Jamelle Cornley: The Next Antonio Gates?
Well, not quite. But there are some juicy rumors on the internets suggesting that Jamelle Cornley has spoken to JoePa about enrolling as a grad student for the fall and joining the football team as a tight end.
At this point, it’s merely a rumor but not such a far-fetched one. Jamelle may be starting to realize that his best chance at a professional sporting career in America lies on the gridiron, as he’d be one of the more taller, bruising, players out there on the field. If he impresses NFL scouts enough, he could very well became another Antonio Gates story (i.e. college basketball player who is now a tight end in the NFL) whereas he’d truly be a bulky midget for a post player in the NBA world and would likely end up playing professionally in Europe in order to see significant playing time.
Also, Jamelle would be able to mutter all the four-letter words about the referees that he wants with few worries of reprecussions…Unless of course, Ed Hightower takes up football officiating.
