Indiana: Part III
The time has arrived, an absolute must-win game is on the cards today for the Fighting DeChellises as they face a nothing-to-lose Indiana team for the third time in what should be a de-facto home game for the Hoosiers. After the near-disaster at the BJC against IU a couple weeks ago there is no reason why the team should be taking this game lightly.
Look for PSU to try and knock the Hoosiers down early and often and get them into submission by the second half. The last thing you want to do in a one-and-done scenario such as the Big Ten Tournament is allow the underdog to think they have more than a Lloyd Christmas-scoring-with-Mary Swanson chance of winning.
The line on this game is 9 points in favor of the good guys. C&C is taking IU to cover, perhaps he feels the pressure will be a little too much on PSU for them to win in blowout fashion. I can’t say I blame him, but I’m going to go against conventional wisdom and say that PSU wins by 10 and thus covers, particularly if IU will be playing without its shooting star Devan Dumes (questionable today with an injury). John likes PSU to cover as well, he feels that it’s not setting a good impression for the selection committee otherwise…
